Francis Lee
Head of Peptide Foundry
Francis Lee is a biologist with a background in synthetic biology, computational biology, software development, and lab automation. At Peptilogics, Francis serves as Head of Peptide Foundry where he oversees core technology development efforts to scale Peptilogics peptide synthesis and testing.
Francis’ career spans 11 years across multiple disciplines – all focused on building scalable technology for biology. Francis earned his B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Illinois. As an individual contributor, Francis has spent time as a pipetting liquids and writing software for genome engineering at MIT, building open-source hardware for biology at Opentrons, and developing the first biofoundry at Ginkgo Bioworks.
In 2015, Francis co-founded Boslab, the first community biolab in Boston MA, where he oversaw program management, lab operations, fundraising, and outreach. He has served as a volunteer and judge for the annual iGEM competitions since 2012.
